The first one is a Dominant 7 Aug 9. If the root is 'A' it looks like:

My son and I call it the "Jimi Hendrix" chord. You get a "Purple Haze" sound if you play the three low strings as a power chord twice and then hit all 6 strings for the Jimi chord.

I also have found a couple of other ways to play minor chords:

D 7
A 7
F# 10
D 10
A 7
D 7

This would be a Am. I use my little finger to barre the two notes on the 10th fret.

And Am7 would be:

D 10
A 10
F# 10
D 7
A 7
D 7 "
