Play Better Guitar - Expand Your Horizons
The most adaptable system is Guitar-eze.
If you've already played some guitar... been frustrated... want to play better guitar... want
to play guitar differently... want to be more versatile on guitar... want to play guitar more easily... want to play guitar
by ear... want to play guitar more by "feel"...
Here's where a guitar player can become a better guitar player.
That is - a more versatile guitar player.
Let's face it - every guitar player has changed tunings. Even if it's just drop-D,
or putting on a capo.
What if you could play guitar - really play guitar - for more than just one song or one lick
- in another tuning. You owe it to yourself to try. I've seen the jaws drop when I play. I've watched the
puzzled expressions from the audience. I've seen the raised eyebrows from fellow guitar players. Here's what Wikipedia says about open D tuning, the basis for Guitar-eze.
The comments are always the same -
"what a great sound"
"that's so full sounding"
"you do leads like that?"
"that's a whole new thing"
"wow"
It's all one simple move - to the world of open-tuned guitar. Of course, it's absolutely
perfect for beginning guitar, acoustic or electric.
But it's a whole new world for the guitar player.
Just a few of the benefits of open tuned guitar like Guitar-eze's open-D:
- riffing - like you've never riffed before
- slide guitar - the way it was meant to be played
- harmonic and overtones you never dreamed of
- a low-end crunch like nothing else
- acoustic tone like nothing else
- "ear players" especially love it
- playing by ear is enhanced dramatically
- Guitar-eze open-D opens the door to other interesting tunings
...and on and on. It's as if standard tuning was just the (more difficult)
primer or starting point. Now you can really start to play guitar.
Flipping back and forth is no problem, either. And of course, open tuning is nothing
new. Check any guitar website out there. They all make reference to open tunings. This method just puts
it altogether for a guitarist who wants a different way to play. Players like:
- Keith Richards
- Ry Cooder
- Joni Mitchell
- Elmore James
- Bo Diddley
- Muddy Waters
- Jimmy Page
- Mick Taylor
- Don Everly
- Robert Johnson
- Bonnie Raitt
- John Lee Hooker
...and countless others. So why is open tuning so under-appreciated and under-utilized?
- standard tuning (as the name implies) is the adopted standard
- standard tuning is not the easiest or most versatile tuning
- a simpler guitar method is generally not a good thing for music schools
- standard tuning is great
- open tuning is great too
- add open tuning like Guitar-eze to your guitar arsenal
That's what I suggest on this web site. Especially if progress is slow in standard
tuning. Frustrated guitar player? You owe it to yourself to give Guitar-eze a try.
When you get Guitar-eze, you've got me as often as you need. Help is always just an

Couple of things - notice the site re-vamp? As a special trial offer (we'll see how it goes, but it may not last
long, depending on demand), I am offering a free personalized evaluation for ANYBODY who just fills out the form. You tell me what you want from guitar, where you are at right now, and I will respond with an honest recommendation.
I'll let you know what guitar path you might follow, and if Guitar-eze fits your guitar aspirations and dreams. Playing

Getting Articles Published
If you're checking out the site and/or blog for the first time - thanks! For checking it out, that is. It's
nice to see the traffic. Obviously the world abounds with guitar enthusiasts. I'm thinking of sprucing up my product
offer with the inclusion of a "strategy session" (FREE of course) for anyone who purchases Guitar-eze. This will
allow me to get to know you better and give advice on just what you need to focus on, in your guitar endeavours. That's
because there are so many of you; everyone is different. Everyone has their own skill level, aspirations, equipment.
There are parents out there searching on behalf of their kids, teachers looking for aids, experienced players looking
at alternate tunings.
Rule #1 is always - READ THE WHOLE BOOK THROUGH FIRST. That's why it's sent to you hard copy. It saves you
money on printing (ouch! Inkjets are expensive). You can take it with you, to work, on the bus, or anywhere else.
If you let me know where you're at - skill level, equipment, what you want to play, all that - I can become a more effective
guitar coach for you.
With Guitar-eze, you've got our partnership pledge - we're with you as long as you need us, as often as you need us.

Tuning Your Guitar in Guitar-eze
Several questions have come in regarding tuning.
Tuning in Guitar-eze open-D is actually quite a bit simpler than you are tuning right now in standard tuning. The
reason is because there is duplication of notes - in Guitar-eze you have three D strings (low, middle and high) and two A
strings (low and high). Therefore, you are only tuning three different notes. Also, when you're done, you can
hear the notes as part of a chord which gives you a easier clue to find an out-of-tune string. Harmonics are also easier
and clearer in Guitar-eze open-D.
To flip back and forth from standard tuning, it's quite easy also. Two of your strings will stay the same - A and
D - in to get to Guitar-eze, you tune to them (I find the three Ds easiest to work from. Once they are in tune, the
rest kind of fall into place).
If you are looking for electronic guitar tuners, get a CHROMATIC tuner which has all the notes in a scale. Guitar
tuners also come with just standard tuning notes E A D G B E, which can be used in Guitar-eze, but it's trickier than with
a chromatic tuner.
So to answer your questions, tuning is more than do-able in Guitar-eze.
